Keep motoring replacement hire car

Keep motoring would be best described as an extended courtesy car product.  You may not be aware but most insurance policies only provide a courtesy car if you have comprehensive cover and only if the car is repairable.

If you purchase Keep motoring, you will receive an equivalent hire car for up to 14 days following a total loss or a theft or attempted theft claim, which results in your car being undriveable.  Our standard courtesy car doesn’t cover these situations.

Even if you only have third party or third party fire & theft insurance where no courtesy car is included, you can buy Keep Motoring.

To buy Keep Motoring you must be aged between 18 and 78 and hold a full UK driving licence.

Personal accident

It's never something that we want to think about but accidents happen, particularly road accidents.  What would happen if you or one of your passengers suffered a serious injury – how would you cope financially?  Personal Accident cover quite simply pays out a lump sum of cash up to £30,000 for death or bodily injury caused by a road traffic accident.

Some limited cover is included with our motor policy but the table below compares the cover that you get.

Payment protection

If you pay your insurance by instalments, then you may be interested in payment protection.  It will pay your monthly insurance instalments if you are unable to work due to accident, sickness or redundancy.  Please note redundancy is not covered in the first 90 days of the policy starting.

We all think it will never happen to us but how many people do you know that it has already happened to.  Were they protected or did they leave it to chance?  For a small amount paid monthly, you can rest easy knowing that if the worst was to happen, then you will still be able to pay for your car insurance.

To purchase Payment Protection:

  • you must pay by instalments
  • be aged between 18 and 63
  • be in full time continuous employment for the last 6 months working more than 16 hours per week

What we cover

There are two different levels of car insurance cover for you to choose from:

policy benefits you will receive with our cover

Comprehensive Insurance Cover (comp)

This covers you and your vehicle for any accident whether it was your fault or not. So if the worst happens, you can relax, knowing you are fully covered for:

  • Damage to your car caused in an accident
  • Loss of or damage to your car caused by fire, theft or vandalism
  • Repair or replacement of broken glass in your car
  • Damage to vehicles or property belonging to other people

Third party fire and theft (TPF&T)

This covers you and your vehicle if it is stolen or bursts into flames. If you are in an accident and it's your fault, you are covered for injury to third parties and damage to their  car or property.

Policy benefits

The table below shows the main benefits that we offer under each type of cover.  In addition, we also offer other green benefits such as 100% carbon offset of your car’s emissions at no extra cost.  Hence why we are called green insurance. When this happens, select no to the question ‘Do you know the registration number of the vehicle you would like to insure?’ and leave the registration field blank. You will then be asked to search for your car’s make and model manually. Once you have done this, the system will display a list of vehicle models. You should select the correct model of your vehicle from this list. If you are unable to find the exact car details, please call us on 0845 272 7604.
